Replacement specialists  •  Free same-day inspections  •  0% financing for 24 months

A new roof is a big decision. We keep it a straight one.

Replacing a roof is one of the largest projects most Utah homeowners ever take on, and it usually arrives at an inconvenient time, after a hailstorm or a windstorm, or when an aging roof finally starts to leak. Soleo Home is a replacement company first. We tear the old roof off down to the deck, rebuild the whole system the way Utah weather demands, and leave you with documentation of every step.

We are based in Pleasant Grove and work the full corridor from Logan down to Nephi. Because roofing is what we lead with, you are not getting a crew that does a little of everything. You are getting a team that replaces roofs week in and week out, and that treats the paperwork, the cleanup, and the follow-up as part of the job rather than an afterthought. When a storm claim is involved, we handle the insurance side with you and accept the approved amount without adding a markup on top of it.

Signs it is time to replace your roof, not just patch it

Soleo Home is a replacement specialist, so the honest first question we help you answer is whether you actually need a new roof yet. On the Wasatch Front, a few patterns show up again and again:

  • Age. Most asphalt shingle roofs in Utah are built to last roughly 20 to 25 years. Intense high-altitude sun and big temperature swings can shorten that, so a roof in its third decade is worth a close look even if it has not leaked yet.
  • Hail bruising and granule loss. After a spring or summer hailstorm, shingles lose the protective granules that shield the asphalt from ultraviolet light. Bald spots, and a buildup of granules in the gutters, are a sign the roof is wearing out from the top down.
  • Wind damage. Utah’s canyon winds lift and crease shingles, and a creased shingle has already broken its seal. Missing tabs along a ridge or a rake edge usually mean the field around them is compromised too.
  • Interior signs. Water stains on a ceiling, daylight in the attic, or sagging decking point to a problem that a surface repair will not solve.

If what you have is a small, isolated issue, we will tell you that plainly. If the roof is at the end of its life, a full replacement is the honest call, and we will walk you through exactly why. A free same-day roof inspection is the fastest way to know where you stand.

What a full roof replacement includes

A roof is a system, and replacing it well means rebuilding every layer, not just laying new shingles over old problems. A Soleo Home roof tear-off and replacement in Utah covers the full assembly:

Complete tear-off to the deck

We strip the old shingles and underlayment down to the roof deck so we can see the wood. Going over existing shingles hides soft decking and rotted sheathing, and Utah snow loads are not kind to hidden weak spots. Any decking that is soft or delaminated gets replaced before anything new goes down.

Ice-and-water barrier and underlayment

Utah’s building code is strict here for good reason. The state has adopted the 2021 International Residential Code, which requires a self-adhering ASTM D1970 ice barrier along the eaves across most of the Wasatch Front, where snow and ice back up at the roof edge. We install that membrane at the eaves and in the valleys, then cover the rest of the deck with a quality synthetic underlayment.

Flashing, drip edge, and ventilation

New metal drip edge, fresh valley metal, and proper flashing around chimneys, pipes, and sidewalls are where most leaks are actually won or lost. We also check that the attic breathes, because trapped heat and moisture age shingles from underneath and feed the ice dams that form in a Utah winter.

Architectural asphalt shingles

We finish with a quality architectural shingle rated for this climate. You can read more about the systems we install on our asphalt shingle roofing page, including how different shingle lines hold up to Wasatch Front wind and hail.

Built for Utah weather, not a generic climate

The reason a roof here has to be built differently comes down to three forces that stack up along the Wasatch Front: snow, wind, and hail.

Snow and ice. Ground snow loads run about 28 pounds per square foot on the Salt Lake valley floor and around 31 on the Provo bench, and they climb past 60 and even 100 pounds as you move up toward the foothills. You can look up the design snow load for a specific elevation using Utah State University’s Utah ground snow load tool. More snow means more freeze-thaw cycling and more risk of ice dams, which is exactly why the eave membrane matters.

Wind. The canyon winds that pour off the Wasatch can gust well past highway speeds, and they are rough on shingle seals and ridge caps. We nail to the manufacturer’s high-wind pattern so the roof is rated to take it.

Hail. Spring and summer bring hail that bruises shingles and strips granules. Hail damage is often what turns an aging roof into a storm claim, which brings us to the part homeowners remember most.

The honest part people remember: when your roof replacement is covered by an insurance claim, we take the amount your insurance approves and we do not charge you over it. No padding the scope, no surprise upgrade line you did not ask for.

What drives the cost of a roof replacement

There is no honest flat price for a roof, because no two roofs are the same. These are the real factors that move the number up or down, and we walk through each one with you before you sign anything:

Roof size and pitch

Bigger roofs take more material, and steep Utah rooflines take more labor and safety setup.

Tear-off layers

Removing two layers of old shingles costs more than one, and it is sometimes required by code.

Decking repairs

Rotted or soft sheathing found during tear-off has to be replaced, and that is only known once the old roof is off.

Shingle and system choice

Standard architectural shingles cost less than premium impact-rated lines built for hail country.

Complexity

Valleys, dormers, skylights, and multiple chimneys all add flashing work.

Insurance vs. retail

A storm claim changes how the project is priced and paid, and we handle that side with you.

If paying out of pocket, you do not have to carry it all at once. We offer 0% roof financing for 24 months so a new roof can fit a monthly budget instead of a single bill. Ask us about the options when we meet.

When insurance is involved, we work the claim with you

A large share of the roofs we replace along the Wasatch Front start as storm claims. If your roof was damaged by hail or wind, you may have far less out-of-pocket cost than you expect. Our insurance and storm restoration process documents the damage with photos, meets your adjuster on site, and follows the claim from first inspection to final payment. And because we accept the insurance-approved amount without an upcharge, the covered scope is the scope you pay for.

If you have solar panels, they do not have to stop your re-roof. Our detach and reset service removes the array before the tear-off and resets it cleanly on the new roof.

Our roof replacement process, step by step

Every Soleo Home roof replacement follows the same five steps, so you always know what comes next:

  1. Inspect. A free inspection, same-day when you need one, with a clear read on whether you need a repair or a replacement.
  2. Document. We photograph and record the condition of the roof, which matters most when a storm claim is in play.
  3. Insurance. If there is a claim, we prepare the documentation and work it alongside you and your adjuster.
  4. Install. A clean, fast tear-off and replacement by a crew that does this every week, with your property protected and the site cleaned up daily.
  5. Follow up. We check in after the job and stand behind the work, because we want to be the team you call for the next project too.

Why Wasatch Front homeowners choose Soleo Home

We are a licensed and insured, owner-run Utah company, not an out-of-state crew that follows storms and disappears. Shadrach owns the business and Spencer runs production, and the same local team that inspects your roof is the one that stands behind it. Homeowners keep sending us up the street for a few simple reasons: we take what insurance approves and not a dollar more, we offer free same-day inspections when most companies make you wait, and we can take care of the rest of the house too, from gutters and siding to solar, as one relationship. When you are ready to see where your roof really stands, serving nearby cities like Pleasant Grove and across Utah County, we can usually be there the same day.

Roof replacement questions Utah homeowners ask us

How long does a roof replacement take?

Most single-family asphalt shingle replacements along the Wasatch Front are a one to two day job once materials are on site. Larger or more complex roofs, or weather delays during a Utah winter, can stretch that, and we give you a realistic window up front rather than an optimistic one.

Do I need a permit to replace my roof in Utah?

Yes. Utah cities require a building permit for a roof replacement, and your contractor should pull it. We handle the permit and the required inspection as part of the project, so you are never left chasing paperwork with the city.

Can you replace my roof in the winter?

Often, yes. Asphalt shingles can be installed in cold weather when the crew adjusts sealing and handling for the temperature. We watch the forecast and schedule around snow events so the deck is never left exposed.

Will my homeowners insurance pay for a new roof?

If your roof was damaged by hail or wind, there is a good chance a claim will cover much of the replacement. We inspect for storm damage for free, document what we find, and work the claim with you. Normal wear and age are generally not covered, and we will tell you honestly which situation you are in.

Do you only replace roofs, or do you repair them too?

We focus on full replacement, which is where we do our best work and give homeowners the most durable result. If a true repair is the right call, we will say so during the inspection rather than sell you a roof you do not need yet.
